During 2012/2013, we took £104.5
million of cost out of our business through
128 cost saving projects including:
• Closing down 25% of our core
IP Stream network
• Rationalising many of our big mobile
operator contracts
• Removing a lot spare capacity and legacy
circuits, saving c. £12 million
• Streamlining our operational processes
• Running a radical programme across
the entire voice portfolio. We checked
what we were paying other carriers
to terminate calls and what they were
paying us. We found numerous instances
where we weren’t recovering our costs
or being overcharged. This programme
saved us £7 million.
